xpltvdeleted asked: Okay, you've just won the lottery - but on the day you win, a new rule is introduced that states you cannot give any money to either charity or friends and family. What do you do with your first £1,000,000? Or should that be in dollars? Okay, what would you do with your first $1,560,000.
Money! So I have to spend it on myself? Oh, darn.*
First, the boring stuff:
- Pay off my student loans
- Pay off my Beetle
Next, I would knock out half of my bucket list. Here’s the CliffsNotes version because I have to go to sleep at some point.
To start, I would go to England again and be the embarrassing tourist I am this time (I have to see Jane Austen’s house—judge me, I don’t care). Then I’d do Scotland and Ireland, move on to Germany then Italy and then go back to New York.
There I’d keep doing the embarrassing tourist thing and actually make it through all the museums this time. I’d go to Carnegie Hall and then see something on Broadway.
Next, I’d fly to Chicago and drive the full length of route 66 to L.A. Of course, I’d go on a shopping spree in L.A., knock of a million things on my bucket list that require a beach, and then go back home to Oklahoma.
Then I would open a bakery. Oh, and I would need a house, too I guess.
The rest I save. For a while. If there is any left.
Yes, I work in finance and I can’t count.
*I’d have to spend some of it on friends and family because I don’t want to do all that alone. I mean come on.

I’ve seen Jane Austen’s house. Bath Is a beautiful town, I highly recommend it even if you don’t win the lottery!
