Cookin’ & Recipes
My family loves to eat (hence the weight problems). We do everything around food. We celebrate, entertain and throw parties. We spend the evenings after work in the kitchen fixing supper and catching up on our day. We invite friends over for dinner. We try new recipes and old recipes. We have a bookcase in our kitchen that takes up an entire wall that’s crammed full of cookbooks and boxes of recipes dating all the way back to my great-grandmother. My mother and I can and freeze everything in the summer: corn, tomatoes, salsa, spaghetti sauce, several different kinds of jellies, jams, apple butter, peaches, strawberries, apple pie filling and more. We bake all kinds of goodies to give away and share the love. My mother and grandmother never wanted you to leave their home hungry. And trust me, you won’t!
I am by no means a professional. I do this for the fun of it and sometimes something really good comes out.
I’ll share with you some of my family’s recipes, but remember, you must share these with love! So follow along through the mistakes and experiments and feel free to give me more ideas!
